CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO ALHAJI IBRAHIM ABDULLAHI (HALIMS) ON HIS VICTORY AT THE PRIMARY ELECTION POLLS?
It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you for emerging victorious in this keenly contested House of representative primary election of our great Party, the PDP to represent ANKPA, OLAMABORO AND OMALA Federal constituency, which you emerged victorious. The delegates have spoken, you fully deserve the victory.
This is just the beginning. The PDP primaries have come and gone, but the ultimate is ahead of us. For now, let me say it is not time for jubilation because that will be hasty. We still have a long way to go and many rivers to cross. The ball is no longer in our court. It is no longer in the court of the delegates; the ball has gone to the court of the electorate. We will now go back to the people who will decide in their numbers.
I am very confident that you will provide the needed leadership entrusted to you by the people of your constituencies for proper representation at the lower chamber of the National Assembly. You have done much for your people representing them at the Kogi State House of Assembly in 2007-2010. The admiration and respect you have won throughout in these earlier capacities promises much for the discharge of the even greater and more challenging duties you have now assumed.
I know that supporters of other camps are disappointed. But our disappointment must be overcome by our love of our people. I therefore call on all other contestants and to unite and to ensure that PDP emerge Victory at the poll comes 2015.
I also look forward to meeting, planning and strategizing with you in order to reconfirm our priorities and provide renewed impetus to our joint action, to make or home a better place for our Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters of Ankpa LGA. I have no doubt that you will indeed bring the change the people have been yearning for. Once more, congratulations.
This has been an extraordinary primary election. But in one of God’s unforeseen paths, this belatedly broken impasse can point us all to a new common ground, for its very closeness can serve to remind us that we are one people with a shared history and a shared destiny.
Long live PDP!
