He said Madu was involved in coordinating purchase of food items for Boko Haram from the neighbouring villages. Usman added that the troops also killed eight terrorists in a shooting encounter at Dumbuluwa a village near Fika in Yobe State. According to Col. Sani Usman, two members of the local vigilance group were injured by an explosive device in the attack.

Usman added that the Special Forces discovered piles of street lamps poles cut into pieces by Boko Haram which they used in making improvised explosives devices during a cordon and search operation around Dikwa. The acting Army spokesman stressed that the military troops of the 7 division Garrison recovered 15 cows, 174 goats and a donkey from cattle thieves and handed them over to the owners while the rustlers were being interrogated.
